Personally, finding nice and affordable food in Hamburg is much harder than in Berlin for example. Especially asian cuisine, Korean to be specific does not seem to be as popular in the northern city as it is in Germany’s capital. While on our trip to Hamburg a few months ago, we made sure to hunt down at least one Korean place for the amazing food. So for lunch we drove to Hanmi, which was located a bit on the outskirts of the city but nonetheless easy to commute to. I had one of my favorites, Kimchi jigae, which is a spicy stew with kimchi, tofu and thin slices of pork belly, while the bf had the lunch menu which came with a ton of side dishes (and no Korean meal is complete without sides). The prices are great, especially during lunch, but if you want the barbecue experience, make sure to come in the evenings, since it is rather difficult to have barbecue (with the grilled pan and all of that jazz) for lunch.
